Cafe Hunting: Ruined Project, Tagaytay
Another Coffee Project project(?), the Ruined Project has a huge open space overlooking the hills and pines of Tagaytay. It matches the Swiss-themed community at Crosswinds Tagaytay where it is located. I love it as a getaway place where I can be at peace with nature. Best of all, I can rest my legs here after a grueling ascent with Bogart the Foldie.
Instagram-worthy. That is one word to describe Ruined Project. Or is that two-words? The facade looks like that of a school pavilion. But like other Coffee Project coffee shops, the decors inside are lavish. Plants are on every corner. Shelves are filled with more plants or books.
Ruined Project has several menu items from main dishes, pasta and sandwiches. Of course, there’s coffee, some pastries and cakes.
The food prices are expensive. I ordered their Triple Tomato Cream and a Frappe. My bill was already 600+ PHP. The Triple Tomato pasta tastes really good. Just what I needed after more than 300m of elevation gain to get to this place. The serving size is just right for 1 person. After that 16KM ride, I am not in the mood for sharing. 😜
I am still trying to dissect the Triple Tomato pasta. There’s tomato sauce and the sun-dried tomatoes. What’s the third one? Tomato ketchup?!?! 😮 Kidding aside, I think I should try this Triple Tomato Cream recipe at home.
They serve cakes and I will be back for them next time. I was hoping they have cookies that I can bring home. They only have overpriced croissants so far.
Ruined Project is located inside Crosswinds Tagaytay. You’d need to go down about 400m from the main highway to reach the coffee shop.
