Tern Link B7 Folding Bike Review

The Tern Link B7 folds fast and can be stored easily. It is perfect for our condo where space is too small to accommodate a full-sized bike. The Shimano Revoshift is perfect for Gab who is just a beginner to shifting gears for bikes. This entry-level folding bike is simple to use and perfect for foldie newbies. The Tern Link B7 is designed for flat roads and city commute. It is not good for biking tough uphills going to Tagaytay. I still did it but it was a struggle.

Easy Fold, Sturdy Build

The Tern Link B7 is a strong and sturdy folding bike. The body is made of thick aluminium and the fork is made of steel. It weighs about 12 kilograms. It folds in as quick as 10 seconds. But it actually takes me longer since I forget which gets folded first.

Ride, Carry, Store Anywhere

Compared to running, I can explore farther. I used the Tern Link B7 up to Tagaytay. It’s a good way to start the day. A bike ride and breakfast in Tagaytay. A morning coffee overlooking the lake.

Since it is foldable, I can simply fold the bike can bring it inside the cafe where it is safer and within sight.

Using the Tern Link B7 is just like a full-sized bike. You sit on it in the same way as a full-size bike. You pedal on it in the same way as a full-size bike. However, I notice it to be a more bumpy ride compared to a full-sized bike. This could be due to the smaller wheels of a foldie.

Adjustable Size

Foldies can be adjusted to a certain height. This is a big advantage since I can adjust it to fit for my 10 year old son, for my wife and for myself. I get to ride it early morning while my son rides it every afternoon. For the record, this is Gab’s bike. I merely borrow it.

It is a cheaper alternative to a full-sized bike. Imagine how much I saved. I just bought one bike and all of us can use it. 😁

Simple 7-Speed Revoshift

This is Gab’s third bike. He had the Strider first, then the Jamis 16″ Laser. The Tern Link B7 is his first bike with hand brakes and a gear shifter. With the Shimano Revoshift, it was easy to teach him how the gears work. Using the shifter is simple. He just needs to rotate the right handle bar to move up and the down the shift.

Limited Power

The 7-speed is not enough for steep bike rides up to Tagaytay. The lowest gear is still a struggle when I take the climbs. To be fair, the Tern Link B7 is designed for a city commute and not for uphill climbs. Thus, I am actually using the Tern Link B7 beyond its limits.

But a 7-speed bike has an advantage. It means our son can’t pedal it too fast. That’s one less safety concern for the Tita.

Tern Link B7 Folding Bike Review Summary

The Tern Link B7 is a practical folding bike for our family. By simply adjusting the seat and handle post, anyone of us can use it. 😀 It is easy to bring inside a store like coffee shops. It is great for a city commute. With enough pedal power, I can take it for climbs to Tagaytay.

Where to Buy

I bought the Tern Link B7 at Junni Shop in Lazada for 20,955 PHP. It does not go on sale and their stock of folding bikes sells quite fast. The store also sells original Tern accessories.
